11.10.2014 – Rosehip

Viktor and I decided to go to the rosehip. Well, just to pick some and make some marmalade, tea or syrup from it. It´s healthy and bio so to speak. But mostly because of Viktor who loves to do such things. Going to the wood and pick up something. It could be whatever, he would love it.

Viktor is David´s best friend and they are very much the same sort of person. They sometimes argue maybe because of that, because they are so similar. Otherwise they are just fine. BFF. Their “girly” beauty nights are famous around our circle of friends. I had the honour to be part of one of these secret nights recently. Maybe I will tell you some more about it later. It was really…unusual.

Anyway we went to pick some rosehips, there are plenty of bushes around here, we live on an island in the middle of the nature, so there must be rosehip bushes everywhere. And we choose one just few meters from our little cottage. Viktor couldn’t stop talking, another of his characteristics. He really loves to talk. About whatever. It’s the same with picking up things in the wood/nature/on the sea shore.

But David was also helping. He showed me then the injury the rosehip bush did him with its thorn. I didn’t see anything, but he was very persuasive.

We went to the sea afterwards and watched the waves and at home I just warm the meal from yesterday. Firstly we had to cut and get rid of the seeds from the rosehips we picked. It was pretty annoying job and all joined us. David was very silent during the whole procedure but when we finished he was obviously too hungry to control himself. He even wanted to help me. By standing in the kitchen and staring at the cooking pots.
In the morning I did a chocolate cake and that needed to be frozen for three hours. I totally forgot but David kept an eye on it and every hour gave me important piece of information on this subject. “It´s already one hour freezing…”

So after lunch we took a bite and then another, the chocolate was very much present so after two bites we had enough. And David was on the border between “I ate too much and I feel good” and “I ate too much and now I´m going to be sick”. So I rather let him be.

10.10.2014 – Home-made ice cream - chocolate (part II)

We had to stay awake until the ice cream was done. Say five hours till midnight. David insisted. Then we tasted it and watched Downtown Abbey and Nashville. (David and Victor love it.)
The result is fabulous! Ice – cream made by me at home is so good that I will certainly do some more variations. And now, after salmon and potatoes, we are going to eat it ALL!
